Estate Paralegal

Los Angeles based law firm specializing in estate planning and administration, is currently seeking an experienced Estate Paralegal to join their team! The preferred candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in preparing and filing state of CA estate documents within surrogate's courts. This includes petitions/applications for appointment, accounts, adequacy orders, and other related tasks.

Job Description: As an Estate Paralegal you will play a crucial role in supporting our client’s estate planning and administration practice. The preferred candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in preparing and filing state of CA estate documents within surrogate's courts. This includes petitions/applications for appointment, accounts, adequacy orders, death compromises, and other related tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation: Prepare and draft estate-related documents, including petitions/applications for appointment, accounts, adequacy orders, death compromises, and other necessary filings within the surrogate's courts.

  • Filing and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of estate documents with state of CA surrogate's courts, adhering to all legal requirements and compliance standards.

  • Coordination with Outside Counsel: Collaborate with clients and outside estate counsel in other jurisdictions to facilitate seamless estate administration.

  • Client Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing updates on the status of estate documents, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

  • Legal Research: Stay informed about relevant estate laws and regulations, conducting legal research as needed to support the estate planning and administration team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification.

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in preparing and filing state of CA estate documents within surrogate's courts.

  • Proficiency in coordinating with clients and outside estate counsel in multiple jurisdictions.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with estate planning software and legal research tools.
