Estate Paralegal

Los Angeles based law firm specializing in estate planning and administration, is currently seeking an experienced Estate Paralegal to join their team! The preferred candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in preparing and filing state of CA estate documents within surrogate's courts. This includes petitions/applications for appointment, accounts, adequacy orders, and other related tasks.
Job Description: As an Estate Paralegal you will play a crucial role in supporting our client’s estate planning and administration practice. The preferred candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in preparing and filing state of CA estate documents within surrogate's courts. This includes petitions/applications for appointment, accounts, adequacy orders, death compromises, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities:
Document Preparation: Prepare and draft estate-related documents, including petitions/applications for appointment, accounts, adequacy orders, death compromises, and other necessary filings within the surrogate's courts.
Filing and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of estate documents with state of CA surrogate's courts, adhering to all legal requirements and compliance standards.
Coordination with Outside Counsel: Collaborate with clients and outside estate counsel in other jurisdictions to facilitate seamless estate administration.
Client Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing updates on the status of estate documents, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
Legal Research: Stay informed about relevant estate laws and regulations, conducting legal research as needed to support the estate planning and administration team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification.
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in preparing and filing state of CA estate documents within surrogate's courts.
Proficiency in coordinating with clients and outside estate counsel in multiple jurisdictions.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with estate planning software and legal research tools.
